What happens if we are late or need to reschedule?
In the event that the Client requests to reschedule its session on account of illness, emergency, act of God or any cause outside its control, the retainer will be applied to a rescheduled session provided that notice is given at least 7 days prior to the scheduled PHOTOSHOOT (or reasonable notice in the case of an emergency).
An additional $50 rescheduling fee must be paid by the Client on making a rescheduling request and JesPictureit will be entitled to retain all amounts paid under this contract until the rescheduled PHOTOSHOOT.
The rescheduled session must be within 2 weeks of the original session date (or a longer period as agreed by JesPictureit and Client in writing) and is subject to the availability of JesPictureit. Any Client that is 15min late arriving to the session will need to reschedule and pay rescheduling fee.
If client cancels this agreement, giving less than 24 hours notice prior to the date of the PHOTOSHOOT or fails to show on time, all payments made to JesPictureit will be forfeited and released to JesPictureit unconditionally.
Will my photos be on social media?
By participating in the shoot, you are agreeing to allow your images to be posted on my facebook and Instagram pages, my website, and used for any promotions. Please let me know if you would like to opt out.
How do I book my newborn session without knowing my delivery date?
Your due date will be your session date so that we can be sure that you are on my calendar for that month. Once your baby is born and you are ready to go home, all you have to do is send me an email and from there we'll schedule a definite session date and time within the first 5-10 days of your baby's arrival.
What to expect the day of my CAKE SMASH session?
On the day of your session we will have fun with music and bubbles prior to cake smash Depending on the package you choose we will either shoot the cake smash and finish with a milk bath. Please let me know any ideas you have upon enquiry, so we can work together to achieve the perfect set up for your little one. The only thing you will need is his/hers personal towel!
When is the best time to book in my Smash Cake session?
I advise that you book your cake smash session at least 3 weeks prior to your little ones birthday to ensure that you get the images back in time. Please note it is always best to book in advance, as I only take a limited number of cake smash bookings.
What should I bring to my cake smash session?
You could bring a special toy or some food to bribe them with! (Please make sure the food is not messy and does not come in packets – as this can then become part of your images!)
Can my mom/cousin/brother join me in the session?

Newborn FAQ
When is the best time to photograph my newborn?
The best time for your Newborn Photoshoot is when your Newborn Baby is 7 to 21 days new. After this time, newborn babies are harder to settle and things like colic and baby acne can start to flare up.
Do you photograph older newborns?
Yes I do! While I recommend to come in when baby is under 21 days, I also photograph older newborns. Just keep in mind that poses could be quite different. Baby's safety and comfort in my number one priority.
How old does my newborn need to be for a lifestyle session?
One of the things I LOVE most about a lifestyle session is that I actually prefer your baby to be closer to 4-8 weeks old because then we get the best of both worlds: capturing your baby asleep and awake! There are a lot of benefits to photographing your newborn session a bit older: You and your spouse are in a bit of a routine, you have had more time to recover from birth, your baby has put on a little bit of weight AND your older children have adjusted to a new member of the family.
What if my baby cries the entire time?
First of all, that likely won’t happen. Babies want to be held, fed, and kept clean, and when we photograph your session at home, it is easy to make sure all of those things happen.
What if I don't feel confident with my postpartum body?
Here's the deal: most mamas don’t, and that is totally normal and part of the process. One of my jobs is to ensure that you are photographed in a flattering way. The other thing to consider is that you will likely be holding a baby most of the session, and that little bundle does wonders for covering your midsection.
My nursery isn't picture perfect. Can we still do the session there?
Absolutely! Your baby doesn’t need a gorgeous, magazine-worthy nursery to live in and be loved. Regardless of what yours looks like, I think it is very special and important to shoot part of your session in the space.
What do we wear for our lifestyle shoot?
Lifestyle is about being genuine and authentic. There is no need to go out and buy new outfits (although – any excuse for a new outfit, right?!). Wear the clothes in your closet – things you feel relaxed in and comfortable. Keep in mind avoiding logos and fluro colours, and some of the other tips in my Styling Guide below, however there is no need to be overly dressed up. Having said that – avoid wearing your worst/oldest gym clothes that you might normally wear around the house on the weekend! A nice jumper and jeans with hair loosely tied back, looks beautiful and natural and is a good compromise between being too casual, and being too dressed up.
With kids, you might like to let them choose what to wear so that they feel that they can let their little personalities out. For example, if they want to wear their tutu and tiara – let them! It captures who they are at this moment in time! You may want to restrict their choices, so that they at least pick something you have pre-approved!
Do I need to clean the house?
No! Lifestyle is real and authentic, so things don’t have to be perfect. However, I would recommend some decluttering and a basic tidy – you just don’t need to go crazy! Especially if you have a newborn, you don’t want to be worrying about everything looking perfect!
What if my kids aren't cooperating?
We all know that it’s impossible to predict children’s behaviour. This is one of the reasons I love the lifestyle approach to photography. For me, the perfect photo doesn’t need everyone to be sitting still and smiling at the camera. For me, the perfect photo includes the small details, the raw emotion, and your true story. It’s really important to try not to stress if your kids are misbehaving – if your face is showing frustration and anger then it will be more challenging to capture images you love. Embrace the mood of the day, and rest assured that I can still capture beautiful connections, details and emotions. If your child needs a cuddle because they’re crying and tired – a beautiful image can show their arms wrapped around your neck, or tears falling from their eyes – these are true and beautiful images. If your newborn is unsettled, this is all part of the story of having a newborn and deserves to be captured. I can also still capture their little toes and little hands during these times – images don’t have sound!
Laugh, play games, goof around and do what you usually do
THIS TIME WITH YOUR KIDS IS SO IMPORTANT
STYLE GUIDE
WHAT DO I WEAR TO MY SHOOT?
This is a common question and is an important part of the photo shoot to consider, as it will have a big impact on the overall images. As a general guide, I recommend:
Colours
- Stick to the same TONES, but don’t overly match (don’t all wear blue jeans and a white t-shirt)
- Neutral colours are always good – use 3-4 neutral colours as your base, then everyone can use these to coordinate their outfits (e.g. grey, tan, cream, blue, lighter brown and white)
- Primary colours or versions of them, tend to work well (e.g. yellow/mustard, red/maroon, blue/navy/royal)
- When adding colour, choose 2-3 main colours, and 1 accent pop of colour
- Avoid fluorescent or really bright colours – strong colours can look great, but not fluorescent. If you wear strong colours, then make sure it’s more of a feature colour rather than the whole outfit (e.g. mustard jumper with denim jeans), and avoid EVERYONE wearing a strong colour
- Avoid too much black where possible – especially if someone is in a lot of black, and someone else is in a lot of white
- With newborn shoots, stick to simple colours (grey, black and white with pops of soft blues and pinks) and simple clothing
- Think about the location of your shoot – if you are at the beach, wear colours that you would see at the beach (e.g. white, cream, soft blues), if your shoot is in the park – consider contrasting with the greenery with warm colours such as red, oranges or yellows, in addition to some neutral colours.
Patterns
- Avoid clashing patterns – patterns can be great, as long as not everyone is wearing them. Floralsare beautiful for little girls and women. Stripes and spots can also be great, but stick to one person wearing them
- Avoid logos or writing on clothing
Style
- Textures and layers look great – think layers of a kimono/shawl over a singlet, lacy or textured material, textured beanie on a cold day, scarves and boots, tshirts and jumpers, jackets and vests Think about the style of clothes matching location (e.g. if you are in the woods, it may look out of place to be wearing heels and a fancy dress). With lifestyle shoots, wear clothes you would normally wear at home, without trying to match
- If you don’t know where to start, pick one outfit you really love, and style the rest of the outfits around that
- Make sure you (and everyone) feel comfortable in the clothes Show off your personality in your clothes – don’t feel that you need to dress plain if your personality and style is eclectic – you want the photos to represent the real YOU
- Think about your shoes – if you’re wearing a nice dress, pair it with a nice pair of wedges, boots or heels – not old thongs or sneakers
- The most important thing is to feel comfortable in your choices. There is no need to go and buy a new outfit (although it’s always a good excuse if you’re looking for one!)
